Going over the international news today and having a MIZPAH
Moment…
USA Midwest Floods – people watching the result of lifetimes of work being turned into wet debris. Puts one’s own everyday problems quite into perspective eh?
Phillippines Typhoon – nearly 600 missing or dead and 800 people perished
after ferry disaster.
I see the faces of those who had loved ones on board –
is not every day without such tragedy and grief a real gift and should be
celebrated?
China – rain, rain, rain – more people dead and more downpours to come. Food
prices are going up, local infrastructure and economy
badly hit.
And we might have been a bit grumpy getting up this Monday
morning?
Jeddah Energy Summit – international heads of state are posing with the Arab princes there (cap in hand behind their backs) to discuss the oil price…and what does the oil price? Up it goes. King Abdullah condemning speculators, and saying to be taking consumers concerns ever so serious by calling for more transparency and for increased OPEC output. As contrast – how nice to have truth and honesty about at least in the very own private environment? Because out there ain’t much about.
What a good place our life can be.
But do we always realise it?
With all the dangers, natural catastrophies and the hefty bullshitting around us we should value and enjoy whatever happiness and stability we can find and experience.
Bring it about whenever possible.
The touch of love and hope.
We have to care for and preserve what is good and dear.
Nothing more important.
A little bit of MIZPAH in the world we live in to see us through.
