Reaching handsTime travelling MIZPAH by Helena Lind.
People through the ages were drawn and fascinated by the word MIZPAH and the message of peace and affection alike. As not everyone could just build a smashing MIZPAH monument on the spot whenever the occasion arose, however good the reason, MIZPAH began to develop beyond benediction or blessing.

The endearing expression took form, spoken with a smile, written in letters, engraved on to lucky charms and protective talismans, the wearing and giving of MIZPAH tokens became a heartwarming tradition in great parts of the world and ultimate gift to beloved, friends and family alike.

When I think of the comfort and soul warming alone that this little word may have very well offered to thousands and thousands of people in darker hours…and I know what I am talking about. But that is another story.

In time MIZPAH matured into the symbol of affection, trust and human(e) values. Love and romance followed suit.

Especially the 18th and the 19th century could simply not do without the charming meaning of MIZPAH.

MIZPAH jewels became even highly fashionable objects of tenderness and fidelity and to protect the wearer from harm. MIZPAH was embraced by all social classes and all beliefs, much loved by chambermaid, skivvy and duchess alike as well as clerk, worker or the quintessential Victorian gentleman about town.

As you see – MIZPAH was unisex as well as universal.

In today’s globalized world, yet again or rather especially now MIZPAH, the legendary “Bodyguard” and reminder on our core strengths has a lot to offer.

As a touching symbol of togetherness and a positive outlook on life, no matter what, it also shows that standing true to one’s ideals is a great way to live successfully in truly every aspect.

So, think again, feel MIZPAH.
